About You:

About the Role:

We are looking for an innovative Scientist with experience in designing self-assembling DNA systems and microscopy and image analysis to join our Molecular Robotics team. Reporting to the Technology Translation Director and working closely with Faculty Member, Prof. William Shih, you will contribute to the development of ultrasensitive diagnostics using enzyme-free DNA self-assembly. Job-Specific Responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Independently conducts and designs experiments that will lead to the development of new ultrasensitive diagnostics using enzyme-free DNA self- assembly
  • Organize, interprets and presents data in internal and external meetings
  • Contributes to grants, internal reports, patent application, Institute publications and Institute presentations
  • Mentors technicians and visiting students
  • Collaborates with Institute staff, faculty, and postdoctoral fellows on technology innovation within the Molecular Robotics focus area
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.

Basic Qualifications

What you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in natural science or engineering field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of related experience required.

Additional Qualifications and Skills

Desirable Skills:

  • Advanced degree preferred in a natural science or engineering field
  • Full time post graduate industrial experience with a focus on product development is preferred.
  • Proficiency with design of self-assembling DNA systems; with microscopy and image analysis; optical design, construction, and engineering
  • Experience with single-molecule fluorescence and/or mechanics is a plus.

Working Conditions

This position will be based on our campus in Boston, MA and will require on-campus presence. Subject to business needs, the Wyss Institute generally supports flexible work arrangements.
