Position Description
We are seeking a full-time postdoctoral researcher in computer vision to join the research group of Professor Robert Howe at the Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University. The project involves real-time vision applications in exoskeleton control. One project will use ultrasound images of the leg muscles to enhance assistance force generation provided by the exoskeleton. Other projects will use video and depth images to incorporate environmental information in exoskeleton control. Candidates should have a strong interest in contributing to multidisciplinary teams (engineers, computer scientists, bioengineers, and clinicians) and will be expected to publish scholarly papers and attend international conferences, as well as take on a mentorship role for undergraduate and graduate students. The position is available immediately. The initial appointment will be for one year with a possibility for renewal of a second year depending on performance and availability of funds. Basic Qualifications
Ph.D. in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field.
Additional Qualifications
Experience with computer vision and real-time image and signal processing; strong publication record in top journals and leading conferences; excellent written communication skills; and strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
