Position Summary
We are currently accepting applications for six 12-month postdoctoral traineeships in college mental health practice. These positions offer advanced training in assessment, brief and longer term psychotherapy and psychoeducational support group spaces, in one or more specialized practice groups, focusing on multicultural concerns, sexual and gender identity concerns, outreach activities, and veterans’ concerns, among others. All trainees are provided extensive supervision with senior clinicians working in a wide range of treatment modalities, a continual case conference on the application of psychodynamic thinking to college mental health practice, a weekly seminar, access to in-service presentations and peer supervision groups and other professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities
Provides psychological evaluations of students, involving diagnostic assessment based on a review of the presenting problem(s) and of the patient’s developmental, social, psychological, academic/employment, and treatment history.
Provides short-term and moderate-term psychotherapy and crisis interventions for individuals.
Participates in research and quality assurance projects intended to improve the quality of care rendered by CPS.
Provides psychological testing if needed.
Assists licensed clinicians in coordinating group therapy and psycho educational workshops, as needed.
Other appropriate responsibilities at the discretion of the Executive Director of Counseling and Psychological Services.
Some evening hours required.
Electives are typically offered in Eating Disorders Concerns or Trauma Support, and Group Therapy/Community Support Spaces, among other potential electives responsive to the needs and interests of the population served. A present, services and training experiences are primarily in-person, with an option of working remotely on day per week. The training experience will be consistent with public health guidelines at the time the fellowship begins. It is possible that services will be offered entirely in-person or virtually or a hybrid of the the two.

Minimum Qualifications
- Requires APA accredited clinical or counseling program; demonstrable experience with severe psychopathology, completion of Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology prior to start date.
