LYR is seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated Director of Operations to oversee daily operations, facilities, information technology, and security, ensuring efficient processes throughout the organization.
Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Director of Operations will provide leadership in overseeing maintenance, security, IT services, and all other operational functions. This individual will be responsible for budgeting, managing vendor/contractor relationships, developing project proposals, and ensuring that the campus remains safe, functional, and aligned with our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Management & Leadership:
- Provide direct oversight of facilities, security, IT, and maintenance departments.
- Meet regularly with department heads to review operations, work orders, and projects.
- Participate in strategic planning with the President/CEO and leadership team.
- Create policies and procedures to streamline IT requests, gift-in-kind donations, and maintenance processes. Oversee and achieve a perfect history of regulatory compliance excellence in all annual inspections.
Operations & Maintenance:
- Coordinate building and property projects, including obtaining vendor proposals and managing contracts and timelines.
- Ensure campus infrastructure (roadways, utilities, security, and land) is maintained and improved.
- Oversee the planning and execution of landscaping and grounds upkeep.
IT and Security Management:
- Assign and manage IT personnel for technical projects across the organization.
- Implement and ensure best practices for IT security and operations using tools like Microsoft Teams and Artificial Intelligence.
- Oversee campus security, including monitoring safety protocols and managing incident responses.
Budgeting & Procurement:
- Prepare and monitor the departmental budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Review and approve expenditures for operational departments.
- Coordinate vendor bids and manage contracts for large-scale projects.
Staffing & Onboarding:
- Lead hiring and onboarding processes for the operations team.
- Schedule staffing and allocate resources to cover special events and time-off requests.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and professional development sessions with team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management, facilities oversight, or project management.
- Strong leadership, budgeting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple departments and ensure cross-functional coordination.
- Familiarity with IT systems and security protocols is a plus.
- Experience working in a faith-based and nonprofit environment is highly desirable.
