Job Summary

The University of Michigan, School of Nursing (UMSN) is seeking an Administrative Assistant Intermediate who will support the Placement Services Team in the Office of Professional Graduate Studies. The Administrative Assistant Intermediate will perform a wide range of administrative and office support activities through conducting and organizing administrative duties and activities including receiving and handling confidential and sensitive information in a timely manner to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization. The individual will report to the Director for Clinical Placement and will work with the Clinical Regulatory Manager and Compliance Administrative Assistant as part of the Placement Services Team.

This is a part-time position that is 30 hours/week

Required Qualifications*

Education and Experience:

*Bachelor's degree is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. 

*A minimum of five (5) or more years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a fast-paced customer service oriented environment.

*Candidate must have excellent communication skills, with the ability to receive and convey information clearly and concisely for various mediums. You will be expected to have solid interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.

*Demonstrated experience at the advanced level in the use of Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook (with both email and calendaring)). 

*A high level of computer proficiency, specifically working with database programs.

*Proven experience producing correspondence and documents.

*Superior organizational and prioritizing skills are required.

*Demonstrated ability to set priorities and balance multiple projects with high-level of attention to detail and accuracy in a deadline driven, fast-pace environment while providing high quality customer service, including follow-up.

*Proven analytical skills and follow-through; a high degree of creativity, initiative, resourcefulness, and the ability to anticipate needs.

*Proven experience in information gathering/monitoring and organization.

*Demonstrated ability to type accurately and efficiently.

*Proficient in spelling, punctuation, grammar and other English language skills.

*Excellent independent problem solving skills related to non-compliant students.

*Knowledge of operation of standard office equipment; clerical/administrative procedures; principles and practices of basic office management; business principles; and filing/record keeping systems.

*A flexible, "can-do" attitude and a willingness to work successfully in a team environment.

*Ability to maintain confidentiality.

*Ability to multitask and handle high demand situations.

Work Schedule

Due to this being a part time position, work hours will be determined between the hours of 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday; may include some occasional weekend and/or evening hours.
