Post-Doctoral Research Associate - Forestry, Wildlife & Fish-Res

The Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries at the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate to conduct data analyses, develop manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, work collaboratively on competitive grants, and play an active role in teaching and Extension activities.  This position will work under the direction of the Director of the Center for Native Grasslands Management (CNGM;  http://nativegrasses.utk.edu/ ) at the University of Tennessee. The CNGM focuses on understanding applied management systems within agro-grasslands.  The incumbent may also provide leadership for field crews conducting ongoing grasslands research at various locations throughout the eastern United States.  The Department of Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.

This is an exempt, full-benefits position, contingent upon continued availability of funding.  Position will be based at the UTIA campus in Knoxville, TN.  This position offers a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

 



Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications: A Ph.D. in agriculture or natural resources; well-developed quantitative and written communication skills; competency in analytic techniques; strong oral and written communication skills and experience in publishing within the scientific literature. Applicants must be self-motivated, capable of working independently, have a good attitude and a strong work ethic.

Desired Qualifications:  Experience in agro-ecology and conservation within working grassland systems are preferred.
