Job Description:

The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking an experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professional to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce.

The Lead Technical Assistant is responsible for Educational Technology and coordinates, delivers, and supports, student and faculty technological issues related to in person and remote/virtual instruction. The position is responsible for the set-up, maintenance, distribution, and support of student laptops and associated peripheral equipment, including the installation of windows and mac operating systems and support application software. The incumbent provides Google Suite (or other LMS) support, which includes google classroom, google meets and all g suite applications; assigns, distributes, manages, and supports student email; and manages, provides technical support, and tracks & resolves issues for the WEOC student help desk. The Lead Technical Assistant coordinates and conducts faculty and student orientations and workshops; supervises and performs various academic duties to assist students, faculty and staff using automated systems and peripherals; maintains inventory control; and performs equipment repair and maintenance. The incumbent will also provide technical assistance to administration, faculty and students as well as set up classrooms and labs. Working with students and faculty is an essential function of this position.

Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree with major course work and the appropriate, current certification or licensure in the area of specialty and one year of experience are required. Experience in the installation, operation, maintenance and diagnosis of workstation/laptops problems also required. The successful candidate must possess strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Windows Operating Systems required. The physical condition is commensurate with the requirements of the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience in a higher education, technology position preferred. Experience with Google Suite (or other LMS) also preferred. Spanish Speaking a plus.


Additional Information:

SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $61,151 plus excellent benefits.

WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is Monday-Thursday: 11 am -7 pm, Friday: 9 am-5 pm.
