JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Meteorology and Atmospheric Science in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (University Park, PA) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position. Duties include analyses of air turbulence data and trace gas levels measured in the Arctic boundary layer. The position also involves working with numerical models to investigate trace gas cycling in the Arctic atmospheric boundary layer. Assistance with trace gas and particle measurements will be needed. The candidate will be expected to interact with an interdisciplinary team of scientists involving meteorologists, atmospheric chemists, and cloud physicists.

Candidates must have a PhD degree in atmospheric science, or a closely related field by the time of hire. Experience in use of one-dimensional and regional models is highly desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills are imperative as the candidate will be expected to contribute to peer-reviewed publications and presentations of results at national and international conferences. The salary will be competitive and commensurate with relevant experience.
