Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Oral Biology Department within the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine (RSDM).  Under the direction of the Principal Investigator, the Postdoctoral Fellow will perform research with a focus on identifying important markers of inflammatory bowel disease and examining a potential therapeutic strategy for treatment of these diseases. 
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Performs cell culture (human cells and immortalized cells).
  • Performs white blood cell isolation and ex vivo treatments to these cells.
  • Performs immunophenotyping on human cells PCR.
  • Acquires patient blood samples from collaborators at University Hospital.
  • Maintains laboratory equipment to meet unique needs of the research activity.
  • Assists with preparation of grant proposals, presentations and publications.

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Immunology, or a related field.
  • Experience with protein expression, immune cell markers and CPR is essential. 
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • A working knowledge of cellular biology, molecular biology, immunology, and inflammatory diseases are necessary.
  • Expertise in a broad range of molecular tissue culture and RT-PCR.
  • The ideal candidate must be extremely self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented but also must have the capacity to synergistically interact with other lab members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
