The Employment Specialist provides highly responsible and comprehensive employment services for the college district wide. Responsible for the coordination of employment advertising, personnel recruitment, data base management, application processing, applicant screening, advertising budget and expenditures, and document retention. Adheres to federal, state, and college regulations and policies regarding employment practices. Ensures that special accommodations are provided for applicants with disability needs in compliance with the Americans with Disability Act (ADA), and notifies proper authorities, if necessary, for further accommodations/assistance not currently in use. Communicates with hiring managers, and selected applicants concerning job offer, salary and benefits, and other applicable information. Represents the College employment opportunities at job and career fairs. This position reports to the Manager, Employment Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited institution with an associate’s degree and two years’ full time experience in one or more areas of employment processing or related human resources function are required.* OR Graduation from high school or GED equivalency and six years’ full time experience in employment processing or related human resources function are required. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
*Per F.S. 295.065 – Certain servicemembers and veterans, and the spouses and family members of such servicemembers and veterans, will receive preference and priority, and certain servicemembers may be eligible to receive waivers for postsecondary educational requirements.
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
ANNUAL SALARY: $31,500.00 (16.15/hour)
