Posting Summary
The primary purpose of the Postdoctoral Appointee position is to conduct independent laboratory research under the direction of the principal investigator. The current focus of the Hou lab is to understand the anti-KRAS therapy resistance mechanisms in pancreatic cancer and engineer tumor-associated cells to improve disease control. The postdoctoral appointee will use in vivo mouse models to dissect the role of tumor microenvironment in regulating tumor response to KRAS inhibitors and use the knowledge to develop novel cell therapies. The PI will fully support the postdoctoral appointee to apply fellowships, seed grants, travel awards and career development grants.

Minimum Education and Experience
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
(1) Have first authored publications.
(2) Experience with studies in cancer biology, cell engineering, immunology and/or biochemistry.
(3) Effective skills in oral and written communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. 
(4) Computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
(1) Ph.D. in Biological Sciences or related areas
(2) Experience with molecular biology, biochemistry, cell culture and/or mouse work.
(3) Candidates in all but dissertation (ABD) status will also be considered.
Basic knowledge of R software and bioinformatics for transcriptomic analysis.
