Recruitment/Posting Title Postdoctoral Associates - Condensed Matter Theory
Department SAS - Physics & Astronomy
Salary Commensurate With Experience
Posting Summary
We seek applicants for Postdoctoral Associate positions in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics at Rutgers University, to begin in the summer or fall of 2022.  The Center for Materials Theory (CMT) expects to fill two openings for Abrahams Postdoctoral Fellows, who have enhanced freedom to work with multiple faculty members under the auspices of the CMT as a whole. In addition, several grant-funded positions associated with specific faculty will also be available.  The group consists of Professors Natan Andrei, Premi Chandra, Piers Coleman, Kristjan Haule, Gabi Kotliar, Jed Pixley, Karin Rabe, Ananda Roy, David Vanderbilt, and Emil Yuzbashyan.  Their interests span a broad range of areas including strongly correlated fermion materials, high-temperature superconductivity, topological electronic states of matter, developments and applications of computational methods at the density-functional and dynamical mean-field-theory levels, metal-insulator and structural phase transitions, quantum critical points, nonlinear and anomalous responses, optical traps, quantum computation and information theory, non-perturbative field-theory, mesoscopic physics, and non-equilibrium transport theory.
Applications received by November 5, 2021, will receive the most favorable consideration.  Later applications will be considered as long as openings remain unfilled.  The applicant’s cover letter should mention the names of faculty members whose interests are most closely aligned with those of the candidate, and should specify whether they wish to be considered for the Abrahams Postdoctoral Fellowship Program.
