JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The laboratory of Anthony Pedley in the Department of Chemistry at The Pennsylvania State University is seeking to fill a post-doctoral scholar research position.

 

This position requires a Ph.D. in biochemistry, chemical biology, or a related field. The candidate should have extensive experience in studying molecular and cellular enzymology with an interest in identifying new therapeutic targets in nucleotide metabolism. Preference will be given to those that can demonstrate excellence in genome editing strategies, fluorescence microscopy, and/or the design and execution of protein-protein interaction assays.

 

The applicant should have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D. by the time employment starts. The individual should be highly motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects including the development of grant and fellowship proposals, assist with the training of others, and contribute to collaborative research efforts.

 

Applicants should submit a cover letter, CV, brief statement (2 pages maximum) of research interests, and contact information of three references. All materials must be submitted electronically for consideration.

 

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one year from date of hire, with excellent possibility of refunding. Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
