The Academic Affairs Assistant has the responsibility of assisting and supporting the Academic Affairs team in a variety of roles including, but not limited to: Serving in a support role to Academic Affairs assistants on day to day activities including class cancellations, document tracking & updating, faculty requests, managing help desk tickets for Academic Affairs, assisting with compliance documents and documentation reporting for grant programs managed in Academic affairs.

Responsibilities

  1. Supports and serves as a role model for our mission, vision, strategic and service initiatives.
  2. Adheres to College policies & procedures, and compliance guidelines.
  3. Performs administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, and data entry.
  4. Performs project work for Academic Affairs.
  5. Attends and participates in departmental staff meetings, as appropriate.
  6. Maintains strict confidentiality in all matters.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written format, with various constituencies including students, faculty, administrators, and community members.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to effectively use Word and Excel.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Project management experience is beneficial but not required.

Education, Certification, Licensees:

  • High School Diploma

Experience:

  • Experience working in an office environment is preferred.
