The Coordinator is responsible for the management of contract training courses and programs at the Woodland Job Corp Center and at various minimum, medium and maximum security correctional facilities throughout the State. Specifically, the Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, staffing assigned classes, ensuring curriculum quality, hiring and supervising staff and instructors, meeting with instructors and staff at their assigned work location(s), and for acting as liaison between the college and the Maryland Department of Labor, Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) and Woodland Job Corp staff. The Coordinator also assists with the management of open enrollment courses and programs, when needed. The Coordinator also assists new and existing instructors with getting acclimated and setting up assigned classes in the Canvas learning management system.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT: Assists the Director in the development of program enhancement and implementation of innovative noncredit and/or credit open enrollment and contract training. Prepares new course and certificate documentation including CC10s and syllabi. The coordinator will assist new and existing instructors with getting acclimated and setting up assigned classes in the Canvas learning management system.

LEARNING OUTCOMES ASSESSMENT: Assists the Director to assure that courses and programs follow best practices including identifying and achieving specific measurable outcomes and college competencies. Implements strategies based on results to continuously direct course improvement and promote student achievement.

ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT: Assists the Director with daily operations associated with program/course delivery i.e. purchasing of supplies. Implement strategies to achieve departmental and school enrollment and revenue goals. Conducts regular assessments of courses and instructional environments to ensure consistent high-quality.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COLLABORATION: Collaborates with other AACC department staff to promote a unified approach to program delivery. Serves on state-wide continuing education advisory groups as requested by Directors. Liaises with related professional and community organizations on behalf of AACC to build strategic partnerships and ensure program currency. Acts as a liaison between the college and Woodland Job Corp and Corrections staff.

SUPERVISION: In consultation with the Director, the Coordinator determines roles and responsibilities of adjunct faculty and contract staff. Coordinators are the primary staff who recruit, hire, supervise and evaluate these individuals.

MARKETING: Collaborates with Strategic Communication to define target markets develop and proof content to promote department programs with printed and digital materials.

COMPLIANCE: Assures compliance of programs with accrediting organizations, regulatory agencies, college policies relevant state regulations and any specific licensure or certification requirements. The Coordinator will assist the Director with gathering data and running reports for quarterly reporting.

OTHER DUTIES: As assigned by the Director, Assistant Dean and/or Dean

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

Minimum three years increasing responsible experience in program administration and development, teaching or training, or closely related work experience.

Minimum two years experience and demonstrated success marketing instructional programs using various strategies including website, email and social media.

Experience supervising adjunct faculty and/or staff.

Demonstrated ability to work collegially with a culturally diverse group of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and external partners on a regular basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ability to function with minimal supervision with attention to details and deadlines including the ability to work a flexible schedule and travel to accommodate the needs of the program.

Ability to utilize college standard word processing, spreadsheets and database systems at an intermediate level.

Experience teaching adult learners in a variety of delivery formats.

Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills. Strong customer service and problem solving skills.

Experience in working in a correctional setting.

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced setting handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously.

This position requires the ability to pass a DPSCS background check to be authorized to enter into correctional facilities throughout the State.
