Department/Division Purpose (brief description of main function):
The Southern Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at Pueblo Community College provides business consulting and training/educational courses throughout a four county area including the following counties: Pueblo, Fremont, Custer and Huerfano. The SBDC’s mission is to help existing and new businesses grow and prosper through business consulting and training that maximizes the economic potential of Colorado entrepreneurs. The SBDC program has been designed to meet the specialized and complex management and technical assistance needs of the small business community. SBDC’s focus is on providing in-depth quality assistance to small businesses in all areas that promote growth, expansion, innovation, increased productivity and management improvement.

This position specifically exists to support the operation of an SBDC sub-center at the host institution, Pueblo Community College for the Southern Colorado region to include Pueblo, Fremont, Custer and Huerfano counties. This position provides support and coordination for the development, implementation, and operation of the Southern Colorado Small Business Development Center including but not limited to; consulting and training small business owners, developing partnerships, fundraising to maintain, grow, and develop quality SBDC programs and services, training new consultants and volunteers as appropriate, and implementing strategic priorities in alignment with PCC and SBDC objectives. This position is responsible for meeting the shared deliverables of the Colorado SBDC Network and Pueblo Community College, reporting to the Southern Colorado SBDC Director.
Event/Education Planning: Oversee and plan events and training activities, identify and secure a subject matter experts, track participants, gather impact results, prepare invoices and track customer accounts. Schedule and reserve facilities as needed.
Marketing/Outreach: Manage social media content promoting services and events that support small businesses and manage special content for key projects and initiatives. Collect and edit client success stories from clients who benefit from SBDC services. Create marketing materials for events such as conferences or training opportunities. Write and publish regular e-newsletters and event e-blasts to SBDC clients and community partners. Prepare other marketing materials such as press releases as needed.
Tracking: Manage SBDC client data tracking to ensure that, all the correct data and paperwork are gathered and that impact data is tracked and recorded accurately. Ensure compliance with federal and state grant reporting requirements under the direction of the SBDC Director.
Consulting/Training: Provide expertise for consulting and training to support small businesses.
Customer Service/Administrative Support: Greet and assist visitors, answer/route phone calls and take messages.
Licenses or Certificates:
At least two years of business experience
