The Trulaske College of Business, Department of Marketing seeks an Assistant Teaching Professor of Marketing and Executive Director for the Center for Sales and Customer Development.

The duties and responsibilities for this position involve teaching multiple undergraduate sections of classes in the Sales and Sales Management domain. In particular, the foundational Personal Selling class is a key responsibility. The individual in this role will be a full-time Non-tenure track faculty member in the Marketing Department and report to the Chair of the Marketing Department. He/she will also be involved in service duties such as serving on department and college committees.

In the role of Executive Director, the position involves (a) Coordinating and providing leadership for the maintenance and growth of the Certificate in Sales and Customer Development and (b) Coordinating and leading the CSCD's external fund-raising programs. The Executive Director will devote considerable attention to:

  • developing major donations for naming rights and memberships from potential CSCD's Advisory Board Members
  • enrolling companies, and associations in CSCD's tiered Preferred Partners Program
  • generating sponsorships and other forms of financial support for CSCD's events and student-focused activities such as case competitions
  • participating in career fairs and other opportunities for Sales Recruiters from companies to meet and interact with Sales focused students.

The Executive Director will also lead and coach CSCD-sponsored student teams in national Sales case competitions & workshops, organize on-campus CSCD student education activity-related special events. He/she will also manage the CSCD's staff, interface with other Marketing Department faculty, and manage office space allocations, budgets, and student activity-related expenditures in consultation with the Marketing Department Chair.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in sales and/or sales management

Candidates will be evaluated on:

  • Degrees earned
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Strong interest in working with corporate business partners to grow the CSDC and the Inside Sales Lab experience
  • An interest in personal selling and sales management and have some familiarity with the research mission of the Trulaske College of Business (i.e., the commitment to high-quality scholarly research)
