Job Description
This position supports the academic mission of Dakota County Technical College and Inver Hills Community College by providing leadership for faculty development, including instructional design, online learning, and assessment. The person in this position will promote and foster the skills needed by faculty and staff to develop courses for effective learning as well as promoting the full utilization of current and new features of course management systems and other tools, for diverse student populations. This position will serve as a leader for various resources and initiatives available in faculty development. In conjunction with administrators, faculty, and staff, this position helps make informed decisions for all stakeholders in the area of educational technology as it relates to online and classroom education.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in education or related field.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development procedures, instructional materials selection/design and production, and the effective application of technology to teaching and learning.
  • 3-5 years of experience with E-learning pedagogy and adult online distance education.
  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge of curriculum design and teaching skills and techniques.
  • Experience working with course management systems.
  • Experience working with and teaching diverse populations, post-secondary students, and adult learners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in higher education or related field.
  • 3-5 year’s college teaching or training experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in the use and management of Learning Management Systems .

Founded in 1970 Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) is a public, two-year technical college in Rosemount, Minnesota. DCTC offers about 150 programs that range from an AA, to a degree in pluming. DCTC will allows students the possibility to go right into work force after graduation. Students who graduate from DCTC gave a 90% chance of getting a job after graduation.

DCTC has over 2,000 students, and a very diverse culture. Students of color make up about 20 percent of the population. 35.2 percent of students are low income and eligible for Pell grants. Dakota County Technical College is a public two-year institution of higher education dedicated to the philosophy that there is dignity in all work and value in individual growth and learning. Founded in 1970, Inver Hills is a comprehensive community college offering 40 program options and degrees including the Associate in Arts (A.A.), a liberal arts education degree that leads to transfer to four-year colleges; the Associate in Fine Art (A.F.A.) degree in studio arts; and the career-related Associate in Science (A.S.) and Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees in leading occupational areas such as nursing, paralegal, computer networking, law enforcement, human services, business, emergency medical services, teacher education, and more.

Located 10 minutes from downtown St. Paul, scenic Inver Hills Community College serves over 9000 credit students annually. Many Inver Hills students are first generation. The student of color population has increased from 28 to 33% in the last four years. 30 percent of students are low income and eligible for Pell grants.
