The Dual Credit Coordinator’s primary job duty is to supervise and coordinate the development and maintain the dual credit programs with local school districts. The position works closely with counselors and administrators at partner high schools to build dual credit enrollment while creating pathways to enrollment as full time college students upon high school graduation.

The Dual Credit Coordinator works with academic departments to provide support in response to local school district needs, implements marketing and promotion strategies to ensure and increase participation, provides admission and registration support services, and oversees the orientation and administrative support for students, faculty and high school teachers. This position ensures the Dual Credit Program is in compliance with SACSCOC, state, system, and college policies.

This is a defined-term contract position.

Duties:

Major Responsibilities/Duties

  • Manages the growth, development, and promotion of the college’s Dual Credit Program, including preparation of guidelines for instructors, schools, students, and academic departments, making presentations at schools, initiating formal agreements with schools, recommending policy and procedural changes, overseeing, orientation activities for students and instructors, coordinating with academic departments at the College, and solving problems.
  • Contributes to the achievement of the College’s recruitment and retention goals by providing information to public, private and home schooled high school students, parents, schoolteachers and administrators, and district officials by representing the College at programs for the high school and encouraging students to consider enrolling at the college upon graduating high school.
  • Develops necessary training materials, handbooks, brochures and other relevant informational and marketing material for high school administrators, faculty, and students to utilize. Deliver training sessions to high school administrators and faculty regarding the use of PeopleSoft and other college technologies, applicable college services, and policies.
  • Provides oversite and supervision for the development, expansion, and administration of the College’s high school dual credit program/department in accord with guidelines established by SACSCOC, the Kentucky Department of Education, and Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority, KCTCS, and the college.
  • Works cooperatively with the Registrar and fellow Admissions staff to ensure that special registration assistance is provided for dual credit students, including visits to area high schools in a timely manner to collect admission and registration materials to meet specified registration deadlines. Assists in achieving the College’s outreach goals by working cooperatively with staff from various campus and off-campus organizational units, especially area schools and school districts. Contributes to a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds.
  • Responsible for managing and maintaining all dual credit records in PeopleSoft, including the Work Ready Dual Credit and Dual Credit Scholarships according to the guidelines set by KHEAA, apply grades to meet required deadlines and work error reports to ensure student data is accurate before each CPE snapshot.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in Education, Public Administration, Communications, Business and two (2) years of relevant experience or equivalent.

The Dual Credit Coordinator must be highly organized while working well under pressure and be able to represent the College. The dual credit coordinator can be responsible for more than 1,000 students enrolled in dual credit at the College taking courses either at the high school or on campus. They serve as the recruiter, advisor, admissions and compliance person for dual credit. They require the ability to work with high school students, high school administrators, and parents as well as high school faculty. The coordinator is out of the office during long stretches of time in the fall and spring as they work with students at the high schools. They manage a significant amount of information, work with multiple external partners and ensure data is accurate as it affects college funding. They are also responsible for determining how to maximize the dual credit scholarships for students to ensure the right scholarship is applied. The coordinator has to balance the needs of the College and the secondary partners the college is serving through dual credit. It would be beneficial for the person to understand the high school environment, and the college admission process.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Public Administration, Communications, Business and four (4) years of relevant experience or equivalent.

Minimum Salary: $42,684.00
