This position leads all aspects of CGI University (CGI U) and manages the CGI U team. CGI U is an initiative of the Clinton Foundation that engages with the next generation of leaders on college campuses throughout the world. Through CGI U, students participate in leadership development, mentorship, skills training, and partnership building, with the experience culminating in the CGI U Annual Meeting, where commitment-makers across the world come together to learn how to turn their ideas into action.

This role drives an inclusive and equitable vision and strategy for CGI U, including the annual event and year-round programming; represents the program externally; cultivates and manages funder and sponsor relationships; and manages the CGI U team and budget; is responsible for setting and meeting goals across all areas of the program.

The incumbent is expected to inspire students and other stakeholders with a vision and passion for CGI U, and have a clear commitment to innovation, social good, and social justice. This role serves as the external face of CGI U, igniting excitement for the program and its impact growing the next generation of leaders.

Core Responsibilities

In this role you will:
Set program vision and strategy for CGI U; establish goals and manage the team to meet goals

Annual meeting responsibilities: oversee all aspects of executing a diverse and inclusive annual meeting, including relevant content development, participant selection, briefings, and all necessary speaker recruitment, preparation, and coordination. Also oversee the host campus selection process and ongoing engagement.

Year-round programming responsibilities: develop vision and oversee design, execution, and continual evolution of creative, engaging year-round programming and content. Drive commitment development, featuring, and progress reporting processes so that CGI U supports and profiles the work of diverse, early-stage enterprises and organizations. Develop additional sources for student commitment seed funding, including pitch competitions and online crowdfunding campaigns.

Alumni program responsibilities: grow and evolve CGI U alumni engagement; develop and execute strategy for a robust alumni network and programming.

Staffing and management decisions

Manage diverse and inclusive CGI U team including programmatic and events focused professionals; responsible for organizational planning, fostering career development and driving performance.

Serve as CGI U's primary point of contact for Principal teams and other Foundation senior leadership. Oversee an approximately $1.7MM budget, including staff overhead and relevant event management and travel costs.

Generate revenue

Serve as a collaborative thought partner with Development leadership and others to ideate and conceptualize innovative programs/concepts that advance CGI U goals/objectives and appeal to prospective funders.

Work closely with the Foundation's Development team to identify, evaluate "fit," cultivate, solicit, and steward prospective funders, sponsors, and individual donors, including authoring/co-authoring, reviewing/editing funding proposals, and related budget materials.

Liaise with funders/sponsors regarding timely completion of agreed upon program deliverables/outcomes and metrics, along with overall relationship management and stewardship.

External outreach and student engagement

Serve as the public face of CGI U; represent CGI U on panels and other external opportunities to raise the visibility of CGI U and active CGI U recruitment.

In collaboration with the Communications/Marketing team, develop year-round communications strategy, including social media.

Oversee recruitment of student applications, engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders and student organizations.

Oversee recruitment and engagement with the CGI University Network, a consortium of colleges and universities that agree to provide seed funding to CGI U students on their respective campuses.

Minimum Qualifications

What we're looking for:
Minimum education required: Bachelor's degree

Minimum work experience required: 5-10 years of leadership in a membership based, community organizing or academic function with ultimate responsibility for a team and a program

At least three years of experience managing a team

Experience working with university students preferred

Experience with event production/programming, fundraising, and social media also valuable.

Exposure to global programming and audience a plus.

Understanding of academia including student interests, priorities of the presidents and how universities prioritize, make decisions and operate.

Ability to lead a diverse team to a common goal.

Public speaking, presentation skills, social media and other communications skills

Fundraising/partnership building skills
