General Statement
The DuBois Lab is looking for a qualified individual to fulfill the duties of a Research Associate or Postdoctoral Research Associate in an established and productive research lab. The individual filling this position will carry out biochemical research related to understanding iron metabolism by bacterial cultures and cocultures, and/or exploring novel pathways for iron and sulfur acquisition in methanogens. Experimental work includes molecular cloning, expression, purification, and characterization of proteins, activity assays, and biophysical studies of the purified enzymes and metabolites. Biophysical studies could involve use of mass spectrometry, NMR, and other allied techniques.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Performing biochemical experimentation 
* Data analysis and interpretation 
* Training and supervising new researchers in the lab 
* Managing purchasing, receiving, and inventorying, including keeping track of expenses. 
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
1. B.S , M.S., or PhD in chemistry, biochemistry or related field plus a minimum of one year of research experience. 
2. Experience with one or more of the following: genetic cloning, protein expression, purification and characterization, mass spectrometry, NMR
3. Experience with and/or demonstrated ability to learn common software used with plotting and analyzing data
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
1. Experience with spectroscopic and chromatographic techniques including UV-vis, CD, EPR, HPLC, FPLC. Atomic Absorption, Mass Spectroscopy, NMR 
2. Grant and/or manuscript writing experience.

* Have the ability to maintain excellent records, pay attention to detail, meet deadlines, prioritize multiple projects, present research results in front of colleagues.
