JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The laboratory of Assistant Professor Joseph Cotruvo, Jr. in the Department of Chemistr y at The Pennsylvania State University, seeks to fill a postdoctoral research position in bioinorganic chemistry. Projects will involve biochemically, structurally, and spectroscopically characterizing metal-binding proteins and metal-responsive RNAs, as well as carrying out physiological studies in bacteria.

The ideal postdoctoral candidate will have extensive experience in one or more of the following fields: protein and/or RNA biochemistry, bioinorganic spectroscopy, chemical biology and molecular biology methods, and bacterial and mammalian cell culture.

Education: The applicant must have recently received, or be scheduled to receive, a Ph.D. in an area broadly relevant to our research program by the time employment starts.

Additional Information:

The individual should be highly self-motivated and is expected to lead their own individual projects as well as contribute to collaborative research efforts.

This is a limited-term appointment funded for one-year from the date of hire with a possibility of re-funding. All applicants will be encouraged to apply for independent funding. Review of applicants will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
