EICC is seeking an American Sign Language Instructor
(165 Day Contract to begin Fall Semester 2021)
Under the direction of the Dean of Instruction this position will be responsible for:
Responsible for teaching courses and assessing learning outcomes in American Sign Language.
Assignments may include alternative delivery methods, evening courses, and multiple sites. Must demonstrate excellence in teaching and service. Must demonstrate a commitment to the mission and values of the community college.
Bachelor’s degree in ASL, Deaf Studies, or a related topic or possess a combination of education, training, and at least 6000 hours of relevant tested experience in the field of instruction in which the instructor teaches classes. Fluency in ASL required. A Master’s degree in ASL or Deaf Studies preferred. American Sign Language Teacher’s Association (ASLTA) certification preferred. Coursework must provide a foundation for teaching ASL courses.
Experience teaching at a community college is preferred.
