Application Pool Notice
Laredo College continuously accepts applications for part-time (adjunct) instructors to create a pool of candidates for each session/semester. Applications will be reviewed and positions will be filled based on department needs. Applications received for this pool will remain active for one year.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide instruction and monitor teaching/learning effectiveness in courses assigned by the Department coordinator or Dean of Community Education. Develop curriculum and instructional strategies to meet the competencies addressed in the particular area in the Electrocardiograph Technician field.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities- Develop course/program curriculum to address the areas of EKG technician online, face to face, or hybrid courses.
- Prepare lesson plans, course syllabi, and Course Verification Forms.
- Assess and modify teaching methods to accommodate diverse population of participants.
- Keep accurate attendance records.
- Submit required paperwork on time.
- Participate in in-service training activities offered by the department.
- Work a flexible schedule as determined by instructional activities.
- Coordinate instructional activities with other faculty/staff in order to plan and promote the most effective instructional programs possible.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean, Vice President and/or President.

Required:- Associate’s Degree and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Science of Nursing
- 3 years of work experience in EKG or relevant medical professional experience.
- Registered Nurse and/or EKG Technician and/or current industry certifications or licensure in health related field.
- 3 years teaching experience.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to analyze EKG Strip (P, Q, R, S, T) wave form interpretation.
- Must be comfortable with teaching 10 and 12 lead EKGs placement.
- Ability to maintain excellent working relationships with the program staff and participants.
- Ability to teach with technology, preferred.
- Ability to teach weekdays and weekends, preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form and ability to instruct and maintain emotional control under stress.
- Must demonstrate enthusiasm.
- Must be a self-starter and a positive role model.
- Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in written form.
- Must demonstrate a strong desire to teach and help others.
- Must be computer literate- Accounting Software, word processing, spreadsheets, and Internet.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit.
