We have an opening for a Maintenance Facility Coordinator!

This is a full-time, fiscal year position in the department of Physical Plant. The Maintenance Facility Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Campus Centers through direct maintenance, preventative maintenance, and coordination with vendors, contractors, mechanics, and custodial services. This position has the authority to make independent decisions, and facilitate changes necessary to bring improvement. After hours, weekend, or holiday work may be required. This is considered an on-call position.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
  • Performs a variety of administrative duties including staff training.
  • Prioritization of work requests.
  • Works with others within the maintenance team in order to maintain operations of the college in the event of a catastrophic failure.
  • Works directly with the Physical Plant Director on projects and attend meeting as request or required.
  • Assists with the inspection and repair of facilities.
  • Participates on several college committees.
  • Assist in preventing accidents resulting from snow or ice covered walkways by shoveling or sweeping snow or ice from sidewalks and entrances, and spreading ice melt within the assigned area.
  • Assists with the inspection and repair of facilities.
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • Knowledge of Physical Plant areas of responsibility: Air Conditioning/Heating systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, fire alarm systems, painting schemes, and energy management systems.
  • Knowledge of ADA Standards, OSHA & EPA Regulations, Safety Measures, Building Codes and 5S Standards & Implementation.
  • Ability to write bid specifications, manage contractors and contract services.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and construction specifications and discuss these items with Architects and Engineers.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with team members,
college community, contractors, and vendors. Ability to set goals and motivate the team to achieve these goals.
  • Experience using a CMMS planning system.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, such as Word, Excel, CMMS, Email (Outlook) and
common web based applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree from two-year College in a related technical field or certificate or diploma from trade school in related field or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related engineering, construction, or technology field preferred.
  • Licensed electrician (commercial or industrial) or licensed HVAC mechanic.
  • Two (2) years of demonstrable experience working on construction projects.
  • Experience using Siemens energy management systems.

Physical Working Conditions:
  • Ability to stand; walk; sit; reach with arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; and talk or hear.
  • Must have the ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push or pull up to 100 pounds.
  • This position is part of the on-call rotation.
  • This position may be contacted during non-duty hours for emergencies.
  • After hours, weekend, or holiday work may be required.

The Salary Range for the position is: Commensurate with college pay (academic rank, degree earned and experience are considered).
