Under minimal supervision, performs varied duties and assignments involving professional judgment. Evaluate and articulate incoming transfer credit, which includes clearing course and department prerequisite requirements. Coordinate transfer evaluation work-flow and delegate, as needed, to office specialists. Assist with maintenance of computerized database student information system. Develop working relationships with Academic Departments and advise students with questions about their transfer credit evaluations. Perform other enrollment service functions as needed. Responsible for answering/handling difficult situations that arise and make office decisions when Assistant Registrar and Lead Coordinator are not present.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Evaluate and articulate incoming transfer credit in an organized systemic method to ensure consistency and accuracy, which requires the following:
1) Reviewing and determining transfer articulation of college transcripts (in-state and out-of-state), standardized test credit which includes, but is not limited to, AP,
CLEP, foreign language exams and ACT
2) Performing data entry transcript articulation in Banner.
3) Updating Banner transfer tables.
4) Working closely with academic departments regarding articulation of core (General Education), program, prerequisite and elective requirements.
5) Sending course descriptions, syllabus, etc. via campus mail or electronic formats primarily utilizing internet navigation.
Assist students, staff and faculty with questions and procedures regarding transfer of credit/articulation, prerequisite requirements, and the application of the transfer credit to fulfill graduation requirements.
1) Assign, organize and coordinate the completion of the
Interstate Passport transfer student report each semester in conjunction with the Associate Registrar. 2) Update
(Utah System of Higher Education) General Education coursework in Banner articulation tables. Ongoing – done as curriculum changes are made. Otherwise, completed annually.
3) Build and modify college codes, names and accreditation as changes, or new institutions, are listed on received transcripts. Identify and add OPEID code.
4) Serves as a liaison between the Transfer Evaluation Office and academic departments and specialty offices such as health science admissions. Functions vary and are completed as needed.
5) Responsible for answering/handling difficult situations that arise and make office decisions when Assistant Registrar is not present.
Train and delegate work-flow to office specialists; to include gathering and coordination of monthly statistics.
Other duties as assigned.
Transfer credit practice and procedures experience.
Experience in a college setting.
Banner user experience.
Associate of Science degree (or minimum of sixty (60) completed semester hours from a regionally accredited college or university).
Four (4) to six (6) years of direct, paid, full-time work experience.
Trade off 1:1 in experience/education requirement.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Academic departments, program requirements for all SLCC degree, diploma, certificate and completion programs, prerequisite, core General Education requirements and transfer articulation.
College catalog navigation and graduation requirements including programs with selective Admissions.
Navigate Internet/Search functions.
MS Office Suite.
General enrollment service procedures and student’s rights and privacy regulations (FERPA); ability to maintain confidentiality of student’s records.
Educational tests for credit and placement interpretation (e.g. CLEP, IB, AP, ACT/SAT and Placement Testing)
Transfer credit practices and procedures (preferred).
Attends training and professional development as required.
Communicate effectively with students, staff and faculty, both written and verbally.
Maintain dialogue with Assistant Registrar regarding special circumstances and exceptions to maintain student record integrity.

Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, ability, culture, ethnic background, to maintain good working relationships across the College.
Ability to work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities.
