PVCC is seeking a Maintenance Ops Spec Supervisor who supervises all facility maintenance operations necessary to maintain all campus facilities physical structures. The responsibilities will include electrical, plumbing, painting, construction and contract labor to assure a safe environment for faculty, staff, student and visitors to the college. The supervisior will provide backup management of landscaping/grounds as needed.

Essential Functions

40% Supervise in-house facility maintenance, plumbing, electrical, painting crews. Collaborate with Maintenance Ops Specialist Supervisor for custodial and grounds services.

20% Establishes facility maintenance standards and assigns activities and performs inspections to ensure successful completion.

10% Supervise equipment maintenance; recommends equipment, vendors and suppliers; authorizes purchases of supplies.

10% Conducts inspections of facilities to ensure compliance with ADA, OSHA standards, fire and other applicable standards. Takes corrective actions as necessary and reports outstanding issues to the appropriate supervisor.

10% Develops Scope of Work Statements and supervises all contracted work performed at the site. Determines project cost estimates and schedules projects to ensure minimum conflict with daily operations.

10% Maintains accurate records and reports on personnel and operations as necessary; performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED, four years of maintenance operations, grounds or directly related experience, and two years of lead work or senior level building maintenance or grounds experience.

There is no substitution or equivalency allowable for the High School Diploma or GED.


An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

  • Five (5) years experience as a Supervisor in a Facility setting
  • Three (3) years experience in dealing with vendors of all types
  • One (1) year experience with knowledge of plumbing and drywall experience
  • One (1) year experience using a computerized maintenance system
  • Two (2) years experience in assisting in the renovation of facility spaces

Special Working Conditions

  • Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:


  • Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate’s own expense
  • MCCCD does not sponsor individuals for any type of work visas
  • May require work off site or in a remote status
  • Will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
  • May involve rotating shifts and unusual work hours, may be placed on an "on-call" status and/or called in to work with short notice
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • May involves standing and walking for extended periods of time
  • May involve working outdoors in extreme heat, cold and inclement weather
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals
  • May require stairs and/or ladders to reach assigned areas along with working at high heights
  • May be required to lift or carry up to #50 lbs.
