The Digital Literacy teacher instructs students in Instructional Technology classes and manages the school library. In addition, the Digital Literacy teacher serves as a resource to other teachers in the implementation and use of technology in the classroom.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. in Instructional Technology or related field. Masters degree preferred.Valid Massachusetts Teaching license in Digital Literacy.PROFESSIONAL QUALITIES: Approaches others in tactful manner. Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position. Accepts responsibility for own actions.

Collaborate with others in and out of Stetson School.LANGUAGE: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups. Ability to work well independently and with people.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Essential FunctionsPlans and develops instructional technology curriculum based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.Prepares and implements instructional technology lesson plans to meet the needs of individual students.Oversees computer labs and equipment for safety and maintenance.Works closely with the IT department for general upkeep of computer labs.Manages the circulation and distribution of library materials for students.Withdraws obsolete or worn out resources.Additional ResponsibilitiesModels and demonstrates care giver qualities that treat all students and staff with dignity and respect.
