What You'll Do
- Serve as an AI/ML Engineer contributing to innovation initiatives in the Generative AI space.
- Conduct experiments with Large Language Models (LLMs), analyzing their capabilities and applications for Teradata's technology stack.
- Research, identify, and evaluate off-the-shelf, open-source, or self-hosted LLMs for testing and optimization.
- Develop and implement machine learning pipelines to measure and capture model performance metrics.
- Assess the cost-benefit implications of deploying different LLM modalities and make strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with senior researchers to share findings and shape technical strategies within the organization.
- Are part of the Advance Research team, focused on solving complex information integration challenges through cutting-edge technology.
- Partner across the organization to gather insights from customers and stakeholders, prototype new technologies, and evangelize advanced analytics.
- Focus specifically on Generative AI initiatives within the Data Science team, driving forward-thinking strategies.
Who You Will Work With
You will report directly to the team leading Generative AI efforts, working collaboratively to advance Teradata's AI capabilities.
What Makes You a Qualified Candidate
- PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and familiarity with C++.
- Extensive experience with machine learning libraries and deep learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, MLflow, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
- Proficiency in working with public cloud service providers (CSPs) like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Demonstrated expertise in fine-tuning Large Language Models or other foundation models.

- Experience with Jupyter Notebooks for experimentation and analysis.
- Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills to convey insights to diverse audiences.
- A track record of exploratory experimentation and applying innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
- A deep understanding of AI/ML model evaluation and deployment strategies.
- A passion for advancing state-of-the-art technologies in the AI/ML space.
Pay Rate: $128,900.00 - $161,200.00 - $193,400.00 Annually
