JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Statistics at The Pennsylvania State University invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Scholar position. The Postdoctoral Scholar will receive competitive salary and benefits, and conduct research under the close mentorship of prominent faculty in various areas of statistical methodology and applications.  

The position will also offer ample opportunity to interact with Penn State's world-class faculty, postdocs and graduate students in various interdisciplinary and interdepartmental programs. At the time they join the department, the successful candidate will hold a PhD in Statistics or closely related field and will receive an initial appointment of one year which could begin as early as July 2021. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.  This is a fixed-term appointment funded for one year from the date of hire with the possibility of re-funding.  Applicants must complete the Penn State application and must submit an application through (REQ_0000014437) with the following materials in order for the application to be complete: (1) Curriculum Vitae; (2) Statement of Research Experience and Interests; (3) Names and Contact Information for three references. 

CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICS:

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR). The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here .

Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.
