We are currently in search of a Mail Processor to join our Gift Processing team! The Mail Processor is responsible for accurately sorting and opening mail that includes cash, checks and credit card gifts. The Mail Processor is also responsible for completing cash deposits and accurately preparing documentation to verify check, credit card and/or cash totals to batch information. This position requires an individual who is detail oriented who can learn and comprehend highly detailed policies and procedures and displays a commitment to data integrity. The Mail Processor will report directly to the Gift Processing Supervisor.

Job Requirements:


High school diploma or GED required


6+ months clerical experience required

Essential Job Functions:

Handle, open and process all mail and donor cash received while following specific procedures keeping mail and cash in dual custody at all times.

Sort donor devices to be scanned into imaging software based upon select template information.

Prepare accurate documentation to verify check, credit card and/or cash totals to batch information.

Aids with the processing and updating of donor accounts as necessary for items such as zero mail (no monetary giving) and returned mail.

Identify exceptions to the standard processing procedure that may occur and work to find a resolution of these exceptions, collaborating with others as necessary.

Communicate with management to understand financial components of the department and understand how those components could affect internal controls and/or the financial risk of the organization if these controls are not followed.

Understand, respect, and demonstrate a commitment to the financial integrity and proper controls that are in place over safeguarding financial donations and escalate any and all concerns to supervisor.

Create an environment of team work, commitment to accuracy, and overall departmental success in achieving stated objectives.

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws; maintain accountability standards and policies at all times.

Meet daily deadlines while maintaining accuracy and timeliness.

Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information, including financial, credit card, checks and child and sponsor information.

Maintain regular attendance and punctuality which are critical in order to complete the day to day tasks of this position.
