JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Electrical Engineering at Penn State is seeking qualified instructors to teach a variety of resident and online undergraduate electrical engineering courses, some with significant laboratory components. Additional duties may include developing online coursework or supervising students pursuing non-thesis Master’s degrees. Candidates must have strong interests in undergraduate education, with a particular interest in active learning. An interest in engineering ethics is also strongly desired. Candidates should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They must be able to communicate in an effective, supportive manner, and be respectful of differences in culture and learning styles, helping students with subject content according to an individual`s strengths. Candidates must also be fluent in reading, speaking and writing English and be able to evaluate student-generated technical reports. They must have excellent general computer skills and be able to quickly learn and utilize a range of software and hardware utilized in the various courses and laboratories. A graduate degree in Electrical Engineering is required (Ph.D. is preferred.)

The ASR includes crime statistics and institutional policies concerning campus security, such as those concerning alcohol and drug use, crime prevention, the reporting of crimes, sexual assault, and other matters. The ASR is available for review here .
