Responsible for managing, planning, and the administration of a designated program. Responsible for carrying out the goals and objectives of the Student Technology Services (STS) Program.

Essential Functions

Responsible for the strategic planning and operational management of the District’s STS Program. Oversee processes that support planning, evaluation, budgeting, policy formulation, and similar functions involved in the effective management of the STS Program.

Coach and mentor the STS Managers/Supervisors on student involvement to ensure the development and maintenance of a working environment that fosters sensitivity and respect for students' diverse backgrounds.

Establish and maintain partnerships with community businesses and organizations, educational institutions, and other entities to support and market the STS program and acquire funding. Coordinate recruitment events and technical staff development workshops to promote the program and provide services to current students and prospective students.

Develop and present training for the STS students that fosters and demonstrates leadership in the work place, and serve as a mentor for the STS students.

Assess the District’s multicultural climate, identify barriers, and propose effective resolutions on an on-going basis.

Provide personnel management, direction, and guidance to staff including orientation, performance appraisal, professional development, coaching, and counseling. Participate in setting performance goals and priorities that contribute to the departmental mission.

Develop budget recommendations and monitor program expenditures. Ensure equipment and software is available for student use as needed by the program.

Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's Degree and three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

NOTE: A copy of the transcript reflecting this required education MUST be submitted for consideration and reflect completed coursework and degrees conferred. The candidate must be fully qualified for the position at the time of application.

2. Ability to formulate STS program goals and objectives and effectively market the program to select target audiences, and effectively interact with students.

3. Ability to recruit, screen, hire, train, supervise, evaluate, and establish developmental plans for a culturally diverse staff.

4. Ability to work collaboratively in developing partnerships and teamwork, and embrace diversity and inclusion.

5. Extensive interpersonal, leadership, advisory, team-building, and mentoring skills.

6. Experience supervising, managing, and guiding personnel.

7. Extensive analytical, problem-solving, planning and critical-thinking skills, and ability to handle and solve daily challenges.

8. Must be detailed-oriented and possess extensive and effective organizational, planning, time-management, prioritizing, and multi-tasking skills.

9. Experience developing and conducting presentations and workshops.

10. Experience planning, managing and monitoring budgets and financial resources.

Copies of transcripts must reflect completed coursework and conferred degrees. All academic coursework and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university or be certified by an acceptable agency that the institution is recognized by the appropriate governmental agency in its home country (this is generally stated in the degree evaluation).

Transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a full translation (word for word) by a current member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework by an agency certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services or granting institution if accredited by one of the regional accrediting bodies such as the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

Applications containing foreign transcripts that are not accompanied with the above required documentation will not be considered.

Out-of-town candidates invited for an on-campus interview will be reimbursed for one-half of the transportation cost for travel performed within the United States. The College will arrange and pay for up to two nights lodging.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. Use hands to handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
