Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow for Public Health Research Institute within the New Jersey Medical School.
Under the direction of Principal Investigator (PI) the Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct experiments aimed to characterize the mechanisms of regulation of iron homeostasis in Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Performs molecular biology experiments including PCR, DNA isolation, gene cloning as well as RNA analysis.
- Will purify recombinant proteins and conduct protein-protein and protein- DNA interaction assays.
- Works with cell lines.
- Will conduct microbiological assays in aseptic conditions and culture Mycobacterium tuberculosis in BSL-3 safety conditions.
- Performs data analysis for statistic significance and document results for publication.
