The navigator will work as part of a team, with other Navigators housed within different community colleges and will recruit and enroll participants until grant funded programs. The navigator will also act as case manager and will work in partnership with placement staff to provide career and academic guidance for successful job placement to participants throughout the training and placement process.
Oversee case management, career guidance, and successfully training and job placement of participants!
Counsel and assist participants regarding job search strategies, personal career advisement and training issues, identifying, and working with barriers to employment, professional goal setting and planning.
Provide oversight of data collection and reporting, in collaboration with OWINN and act as the point-of-contact between NSHE institutions, OWINN, and partner agencies
Collaborate directly with other Community College Navigators and faculty, as well as with Workforce Response Centers or Re-HIRE Centers and partners, providers, and community groups, to organize meetings with clients and/or community members to share information about short-term training and/or education options.
Report grant progress periodically to Project Coordinator
Advise, monitor, and track participation and outcomes for participants
Manage the day-to-day relationship with participant, addresses concerns promptly, documents all findings with case notes in a clear manner
Maintain knowledge and professional understanding of a vast array of occupations and career pathways for effective placement of a participant into employment
Document participant success stories, internally and externally
Connect regularly with stakeholders to assess progress toward deliverables and determine additional supports needed for success
Provide support to community colleges in sharing information with clients/members regarding short-term training and education options (English and Spanish communications)
Work in collaboration with NSHE, GOED and OWINN to lead data collection efforts and provide monthly reporting and updates
Participate in college and NSHE wide committees as appropriate
Other duties as assigned
This is a part-time non-benefits eligible position. This position will not work more than 79 hours per month. The hourly payrate is $25.
