The Department of Psychological Sciences at Rice University (Houston, Texas) is now accepting applications for a lecturer position to begin July 1, 2021. The candidate should have a PhD in Psychology or a related field by the start of the appointment. This is a one-year appointment with the strong possibility of renewal, contingent on performance. Rice University has a promotable teaching professor track for those with the promise and commitment to become pedagogical leaders in their discipline, and the successful applicant could eventually be eligible for an appointment to that track.
The successful applicant will teach six undergraduate courses a year, split across the Fall and Spring semesters. The courses to be taught include Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Cognitive Psychology, Research Methods, an upper-level class in the area of the lecturer’s expertise, and other classes that may be required to fulfill a departmental need. The candidate will also be expected to mentor and advise undergraduate students in the Department of Psychological Sciences.
