What you need to know

Grant Funded: This position is grant funded; future employment may be contingent upon future funding.

COVID-19 information:   Texas A&M University monitors and updates our recruiting, hiring and onboarding processes to align with local, state and federally mandated health guidelines to keep employees, prospective employees, and visitors as safe as possible.  Each department has established both remote and in-person procedures for conducting these processes, which include sanitizing common spaces, a mask policy, and maintaining safe physical distancing to the extent possible.  Departments will provide the procedures to be followed at each step of the recruiting process.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Appropriate PhD

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • PhD in Education, or Science related field
  • Experience working with and supporting large-scale research
  • Experience in education related data collection, verification, and analysis
  • Experience coding observations recorded in educational setting (classroom/at-home learning)
  • Experience related to dissemination including developing proposals, manuscripts and presentations

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations
  • Strong background in data collection, management, and analysis
  • Scientific writing and publication skills
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Organized, ,pays attention to details, and strong language skills in English

Responsibilities:

Data Management

  • Develop and maintain processes that document, verify, screen observations collected from family at-home learning
  • Maintain organization of observations

Data analysis and coding

  • Support coder training and inter-rater reliability of coding using observation protocol
  • Delegate and distribute electronic observation files for coders to analyze
  • Code at-home family learning observations
  • Monitor coding progress across coding team
  • Support analysis of completed codings

Development of research component resources

  • Develop family at-home learning materials and resources
  • Translate/transadapt resources from English to Spanish

Support dissemination of research findings

  • Develop and submit proposals, present findings at research conferences and institutes
  • Develop high quality scientific manuscripts by preparing methods, analysis, and findings Writing proposals, manuscripts, abstracts, and reports related to project.

Other

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
