Workforce Education Faculty for Business Technology. Responsible to prepare students for a career as an administrative assistant, accounting clerk, computer operator, or office manager. Students will gain the professional and computer knowledge for meeting the necessary skills to attain positions in their chosen field. Given the necessary time on the job to build expertise and accumulate experience, students can take advantage of opportunities to advance. Comprehensive computer classes and their applications prepare students for the MOS (Microsoft Office Specialist) certification exam in several Office applications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and update course syllabi and course content
Assist in the development of new curricula to support industry needs/job market demand
Develop and implement lesson plans to teach business skills and competencies
Prepare outlines of instructional programs and training schedules and establish course goals
Assess student learning to measure progress and competency
Evaluate student performance fairly and consistently and provide timely, constructive feedback to promote maximum learning
Administer oral, written, or performance tests to measure progress and to evaluate training effectiveness
Work collaboratively to solve problems and develop new opportunities for the program
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Classroom instruction, management, and interpersonal skills

Business/office environments and processes
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Management or related field
Three years professional experience in teaching business administration/management OR three years professional field experience in Business Administration/Management.
Recent higher education or lower division teaching experience
Expertise and professional experience/training in field of course(s) to be taught, especially Accounting, Economics, and/or Business Law
Commitment to the development of innovative teaching and instructional technologies and ability to envision new opportunities for the program
