POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Mechanical Engineering, to perform cutting-edge research on projects centered around artificial intelligence and machine learning methods for engineering design in the Design Computation and Digital Engineering (DeCoDE) Laboratory at MIT under the guidance of Dr. Faez Ahmed.  Will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing novel computational models, algorithms, and innovative applications to process data to solve real-world problems in the engineering design domain.  Will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to deliver results, adaptability, work on research proposals, and collaborate in a team-oriented environment. 


Job Requirements
REQUIRED:  a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, applied math, computer science, or related field; research experience in machine-learning/AI algorithm development in any research area; proficiency with programming methods such as Python, TensorFlow/PyTorch, and Julia; a strong publication record in your field of study; self-motivation and demonstrated ability to conduct independent research; strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.  Domain knowledge within modeling of engineering design problems is not required, but the ability to transfer knowledge to engineering design problems is expected.  Job #19560
