This position provides technical support, maintenance, and installation services of infrastructure and AV equipment for the College. This position provides media-related technical and academic support services for the entire College. Supports faculty using technology in classrooms and others who need assistance in a wide variety of public presentations and performances.

List of Essential Activities

1. Provides set-up and support of laptops, projectors, microphones, lighting, and sound systems within conference rooms, auditoriums, classrooms and events; this includes setting up equipment, turning on audio/visual equipment and providing on call support to events as needed.
2. Configures room set-ups for meetings of various sizes including set-up, operation, and breakdown
3. Expeditiously handles support tickets involving audio visual issues and requests for assistance; provide Tier 2/3 support of audio-visual equipment utilized in instructional and departmental settings
4. Provides basic training to end users on audio visual equipment and related systems.
5. Installs audio-visual technologies such as projectors, document cameras, amps, speakers, projection screens, displays, web conferencing cameras and cabling; deploys, delivers and provides equipment and services as requested within established deadlines
6. Organizes equipment in storage areas including; maintenance, inventory and upkeep audio visual equipment, systems and laptops.
7. Provides project support to immediate manager and other designated personnel.
8. Assists with basic troubleshooting and maintenance of audio/visual equipment; alerts immediate manager of equipment issues, repairs ore replacements that may be required.
9. Operates designated vehicles for the delivery of the equipment to various locations around campus.
10. Related duties and projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

1. Associate’s Degree, or H.S. Diploma and technical training or certification, or additional year of experience (total of two years)
2. One year of technical support exp. IT client service/help-desk/media technology; ability to assist with the creation of procedural guides
3. Excellent customer service skills, high level of self-motivation and demonstrated capacity for understanding when to elevate complex issues to the appropriate parties
4. Proven proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office Suite, Google, and/or other applications; ability to master the use of both Mac and Windows PC computers
5. Willingness to assist with the installation projects that may involve working on scaffolding or ladders.
6. New Jersey Driver’s License in good standing.
7. Willingness to adjust schedule as needed.

Medium Work: Involves frequent (defined as one to two-thirds of the time) lifting 25 to 50 pounds at a time. A full range of medium work requires standing, walking, stooping, climbing, bending, etc., and may include crawling outside or inside confined spaces for a total of approximately 6 hours in an 8-hour workday. Working conditions may include exposure to extreme temperatures (> 100 F and/or < 50 F) and moderate to loud noises related to the operation of equipment or machinery. May also climb on scaffolding or ladders to completed installations.
