Under limited supervision, the Office Administrative Specialist Intermediate (OASI) provides project support to the Student Support Center. The Student Support Center includes; Counseling, Office of Student Rights & responsibilities (Student Complaints and Student Conduct), Parent Center, and the Resource and Referral Center (including food Pantry). The OASI coordinates a wide variety of operations to ensure that the Student Support Center functions in an organized and efficient manner. The OASI manages several functions within the Student Support Center,

Required Qualifications
  • Strong written and spoken English, including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar sufficient to perform the duties of this position.
  • Customer services practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs, meet quality standards for services.
  • Lead work skills sufficient to perform the duties of the position.
  • Word processing sufficient to use software to create, format, edit and save a variety of documents, including spreadsheets, tables, charts, and graphs.
  • Knowledge of computer software applications to create spreadsheets from a variety of sources and complete lists, spreadsheets, and graphs to track projects, data, and activities.
  • Database management skills sufficient to develop and maintain data bases and retrieve information.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills; with which demonstrates the ability to follow-up on tasks and projects with appropriate administrators and staff.
  • Experience providing support in a college student support center.
  • Experience using lead work skills to manage work through others to achieve the unit goals.
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and abilities around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures to quickly assess a problem and make independent decisions.
  • Ability to interact with the public and stablish good working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Ability to recognize potential problems and recommend actions and solutions.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to organize time and diverse tasks, write clearly, conduct meetings, set and meet deadlines.

SALARY:
Salary range for the Office and Administrative Specialist Intermediate classification is in accordance with the 2019- 2021 American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) labor contract. Placement within the salary range for this position is determined on the basis of relevant experience/education and in accordance with the AFSCME agreement.Benefits:
