The Senior Programmer Analyst/Project Lead is responsible for the analyzing, designing, documenting, reviewing, and testing of complex functions, modules, and programs created in one or more designated programming languages. This position leads the setting of standards, policies, and procedures, and coaches other team members on development techniques and standards. This position facilitates and tracks the definition of a project’s scope, goals, and deliverables and also defines project tasks and resource requirements. They take on a lead role in providing technical guidance on related projects and responding to customer issues, working closely with the Customer Support Team and other technical staff.

  • Develop programming standards and methodologies. Recommend ongoing process improvements in change management, development standards, and project management methodologies.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables. Develop project plans and define project tasks and resource requirements. Track project deliverables and provide direction and support to project team.
  • Lead or co-lead development projects and directly supervise, manage, and evaluate two other team members.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field from an accredited college or university. Combination of relevant education and/or experience in the appropriate technical and management areas may be considered as a substitute for the degree.
  • Two years’ experience with Software Development Life Cycle(s).
  • Two years’ experience in project management and various Methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, XP).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Extensive understanding of developing and deploying applications.
  • Extensive understanding of Oracle PL/SQL/MSQL.
  • Extensive understanding of programming languages such as Java, C#, PHP, PERL or Python.
  • Extensive understanding of Web Technologies (HTML, Javascript, CSS, Ajax).
  • Extensive understanding of relational databases and relational database design.
  • Understanding of Java servers, such as Tomcat and/or WebLogic.
  • Understanding of how to use Groovy and Grails.
  • Understanding of Linux shell and/or Bash scripting.
  • Understanding of Linux and Redhat.
  • Familiarity with development tools (editors, debuggers, version control, and bug tracking).
Additional Information:

Work Location/Travel Expectations

  • This position is located at CCCS/IT 1059 Alton Way, Denver, CO 80230.
  • Daily schedules may fluctuate to accommodate organizational needs, deadlines and delivery of services.
  • Occasional in-state travel, along with an annual out-of-state conference attendance, as required.

CCCS System Office employees are temporarily working remotely and may return to the office as guidelines allow. However, we do have options for alternative work schedules and flex place/teleworking that are combined with employees being present in the office as required.
