Essential Functions

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Center for Dissemination and Implementation at the Institute for Public Health at Washington University in St. Louis is a national leader in advancing implementation research. We are announcing a post-doctoral fellowship in Healthcare Innovation and Implementation Research (HIIR).  Ongoing projects include home-based, biometric monitoring of heart failure patients, data platforms to link health systems with social service organizations, and the innovative applications of non-emergent medical transportation using ride-share businesses to catalyze innovations in care delivery and patient outcomes.  In addition to applied projects, the fellowship would have a heavy emphasis on methods and methods development, including use of conceptual development methods, literature reviews, and other methods. 

HIIR fellows will lead dissemination and implementation research projects that study the development, implementation, and spread of care delivery innovation projects at BJC/WUSM.  This work will be performed in close collaboration with the WashU CDI and the BJC/WUSM Healthcare Innovation Lab.  Successful fellows will produce rigorous studies that are published in high-profile, peer-reviewed publications and successfully obtain internal and external grant funds to support their work.  

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare analysis and submit peer-reviewed research papers on innovation projects in high-profile publications.
  • Develop and disseminate methodologically innovative perspectives and tools in implementation research.
  • Assist in the design and execution of projects.
  • Evaluate project outcomes and assists in the reporting of the outcomes.
  • Maintain collegial conduct towards co-trainees, staff members and members of the research groups.
  • Adhere to all applicable University policies, procedures and regulations.


  • Required Qualifications

    Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree.



    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in dissemination and implementation research methods.
    • Demonstrated accomplishment in research project design and execution.
    • Familiarity with informatics, data extraction, data analysis.
    • Project management expertise.
    • Epidemiological skills and training.
    • General understanding of healthcare operations.  


    Salary Range

    Base pay commensurate with experience.
