Salary: Step 08 - $22,140 annually @ 20 hrs/week

Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assist PI with writing research papers for journal submissions
2. Maintain record of human subjects' in research studies.
3. Provide support to PI with data analysis and interpretation
4. Assist with developing a strategic plan, evaluation of progress, process and outcomes, and creating data-based profiles for research studies
5. Perform other duties as assigned

  • Admitted to a master’s or doctoral program at the University of Hawai‘i
  • Expressed interest in cancer epidemiology or prevention
  • Knowledge in statistical methods, e.g., general linear models, logistic regression, Cox regression
  • Experience in programming in SAS or R
  • Effective writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated competency in general computer programs, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Identified mentor in Cancer Epidemiology or Cancer Prevention in the Pacific program at UHCC
  • Completed fellowship applications should be submitted following formal admittance to a graduate program at UH M?noa. Note that fellowship support is not restricted to first year students; students in advanced semesters of a PhD program are also encouraged to apply.

If you have had any previous research experience please describe the nature and duration of that work. Be sure to include where and with whom that research was conducted. Also describe how your interests match those of your proposed mentor at UHCC.
