JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of English at The Pennsylvania State University (University Park) invites applications for one or more full-time teaching faculty positions (non-tenure-track) to begin in Fall 2021. This is a one-year fixed-term position with the possibility of renewal.

Responsibilities primarily include teaching introductory undergraduate courses in the Program of Writing and Rhetoric. A graduate degree in a relevant field of study is required. Applications must include a cover letter and curriculum vitae (with the names and contact information of two references) and, if relevant, past student evaluations of teaching effectiveness. In addition, the successful candidate must either have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive, equitable, and diverse campus community, or describe one or more ways they would envision doing so, given the opportunity.

Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position: 

- Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check 

- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History 

- Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
