JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State Animal Diagnostic Laboratory (ADL) at University Park is seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Immunology. Applications are sought from highly motivated individuals with a strong interest in developing and validating the next generation of immuno-diagnostic assays for diseases of animal and human importance. Specific responsibilities include,1) develop and validate multiplex high-throughput serologic assays to measure host response to bacterial and viral infections, and host immune responses in vaccinated animals, and 2) participate in ongoing research projects focused on diseases of high consequence to human and animal health. Strong work ethic and initiative, good writing and communication skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to drive a project forward are essential. Candidates should have a PhD in immunology with strong skills in a wide range of immunological techniques and should be skilled in computational data analysis and visualization.  The successful applicant must have the ability to plan, execute, interpret, summarize, and troubleshoot independent research and collaborate effectively with members of a research team from ADL and other diagnostic laboratories in Pennsylvania.
