This full time, year round position works with children (3 - 5 years old), parents, students and the SMCC community in carrying out developmentally appropriate practices with young children. Position reports to the Director, Spring Point Children's Center. The successful candidate will communicate daily with parents; plan and prepare meals; provide supervision for work-study and field placement students as necessary.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Candidates must possess knowledge of emergency first aid/fire safety procedures; the ability to work with a teaching team to design developmentally appropriate activities for children ages 3 - 5; excellent written and interpersonal skills; excellent organization, observational, and recordkeeping skills; knowledge of sound nutritional practices; the ability to interact continually with preschoolers in a lively, animated environment, both indoors and out; flexibility and ability to prioritize; ability to complete 30 credit hours of in-service training as required by Maine State Licensing Regulations. Familiarity with NAEYC standards and accreditation process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field and have work experience in an early childhood setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $17.51 per hour
