Create and maintain an efficient work and learning environment through the provision of all endpoint technologies used by NICC. To serve NICC in delivering computer-based endpoint, classroom technology, network support, and network infrastructure assistance to support the end-user. Implement and maintain technology systems utilizing best practices. Establish communication standards for district-wide collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

The tasks listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional tasks related to the type of work of the class as necessary.

Responsible for providing College-wide maintenance and support of all AV systems and end-user technologies owned by NICC – endpoint and end-user technologies include but are not limited to: large format displays, touch panels, projectors, professional audio equipment, workstations, laptops, tablets, printers, copiers, and phones utilizing current best practices.
Assist AV Coordinator with comprehensive classroom technology plan for all installations, upgrades, and maintenance of classroom equipment.
Assist with procurement for the respective campus location including a full understanding of ordering procedures, vendor management, requisition fulfillment, and other details.
Determine the nature of problems, log and track the details and resolution progress, help users resolve problems, and collaborate with the appropriate CIS staff as required.
Maintain parts and supply inventory and records for the respective campus location.
Perform diagnostic tests to verify function and/or troubleshoot problems.
Participate in training to advance skills, knowledge, and abilities as they relate to the position.
Document, collaborate, and cross-train duties with other Audio Visual Network Technicians and Helpdesk Network Technicians.
Participate in Technology Support Services team meetings.
Continue to grow as a professional through continued education, research and study, and interaction with other professionals and leaders.
Operate at all times with the utmost integrity and loyalty to the team.
Go above and beyond the norm to serve others and grow as a leader among leaders.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years’ experience in working with multimedia equipment and technologies required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree and/or relevant certifications preferred.

Be knowledgeable of new and emerging technologies and share with appropriate individuals and committees. Strong audio/visual and communications experience and training required. Experience in end-user, technology-related training preferred. Possesses strong organization and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate, work with and provide training to people with various ranges of audio/visual understanding and ability to establish and maintain rapport with faculty, staff, and students. Knowledge of audio/visual equipment functions, installation, maintenance, electronic troubleshooting, and related connectivity.

Ability to diagnose mechanical and electronic problems and to do detailed work with a high degree of accuracy. Knowledge and/or experience with PC maintenance preferred. Must be able to work cooperatively in a team setting. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Able to resolve users’ problems by troubleshooting and delivering a useful solution as appropriate. Demonstrated ability to work with people effectively. Contribute to the success of the fast-paced, multi-cultural environment by being flexible and adaptable. Use good judgment and exhibit effective problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Provide excellent customer service in all interactions with students, employees, and College visitors. Personal qualities of honesty, approachability, enthusiasm, and sense of humor.

Essential Functions
