Summary Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Chang laboratory at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Institute of Human Nutrition. The research group investigates regulation of lipid metabolism and transport and lipid-associated immune cell responses and biology in systemic inflammation and neuroinflammation by multi-disciplinary approaches, including physical chemistry, mass spectrometry, multidimensional optical imaging, and cell sorting systems to advanced analytical bioenergetics, and phenotyping in transgenic mouse models. The position is NIH funded and available immediately.

Minimum Degree Required

PhD or MD

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants should have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in immunology, cell biology, biophysics, biochemistry or related science in a relevant scientific field.

Preferred Qualifications

 A strong track record of scientific publications in peer reviewed journals.
 Experience in a broad array of platforms and technologies for research studies include ELISA, western blot, qPCR, immune cell isolation and analysis, flow cytometry, RNA-seq, immunohistochemistry, and mass spectrometry.
 Significant wet lab experience in molecular biology.
 Excellent communication and writing skills with extensive knowledge in utilizing the appropriate technology, i.e. PowerPoint, Excel, statistical and other programs to create and communicate research reports, key information and for publications.
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills
