NOTE: CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME. ALL TIMES SHOWN ARE IN EASTERN TIME.Under the general direction of the Dean of Financial Services this position provides administrative assistance the Dean of Financial Services and the Business Office Manager.This is a role that includes clerical duties and someone with excellent customer service skills who will interact with others courteously, respect confidentiality, and accurately handle multiple tasks under pressure.Salary: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule E2 03: $40,973 - $55,830Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet through the online application system by the deadline date in order to be considered. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

  • Associate degree, or the equivalent (60 semester hours), from a regionally accredited institution• Two (2) years of full-time directly related experience• Ability to demonstrate computer and/or other skills during screening• High degree of workplace professionalism in both appearance and demeanor, with excellent customer service skills• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality• Strong interpersonal skills and work ethic• Effective oral and written communication skills; proficiency in the English language• Proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Outlook

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The duties and responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following: 1. Maintain regular and predictable attendance.2. Perform advanced clerical/secretarial work.3. Assist and cross train clerks on front line with handling of student tuition payments, entering fines/penalties, collection of receivables, and any other daily cashiering functions.4. Ensure all monies due to the College are collected and documented in accordance with approved policies.5. Prepare timely bank deposits and automated accounting through the College's cash receipts software program.6. Account for and maintain accurate and complete cash receipt and receivables reports to support general ledger posting and to meet audit compliance.7. Each semester timely prepare, verify, and coordinate accurate business office registration processing.8. Vendor code setup and maintenance, reviews purchase requisitions and distributes purchase orders.9. Answer telephone and provide business office communication and assistance.10. Provide back-up support to College mail/workroom personnel.11. Serve on institutional committees as assigned.12. Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in the State and College policies.13. Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College.14. Perform other duties as assigned.
